If you consider it, the world we live in is a really weird place. Most people spend their waking time just waiting for the next good feeling to show up, as if it was some kind of pre-defined moment waiting to happen. For some people it's a game of hockey or football on TV, maybe a soap opera or reality show. Others buy stuff, lots of stuff. A new Bluray-player, a huge plasma-TV or maybe even a brand new shiny car. Some even go as far as getting themselves a beautiful trophy-wife or husband so they can allow themselves to feel good once others admire their image of success. Maybe you don't belong to that crowd. Not everyone in our materialistic culture is fortunate enough to shop themselves into happiness. Loneliness, depression, stress, frustration or anxiety are all trademarks when life is seen a struggle. The good feelings just don't show up enough, or perhaps not even at all. Does your life have a purpose? Are you contributing anything useful to this world, or just shuffling papers, banging on a keyboard, and coming home to a drunken existence on the weekends? No matter who you are, wouldn't it be nifty not to have to wait to feel good? Wouldn't it be nice to always be able to allow yourself to feel good, for no reason at all other than just wanting to do so? Coaching isn't about setting goals, learning positive thinking, managing time or convincing yourself how good you feel by talking to yourself in the mirror with a phony smile on your face. Coaching is a set of tools, methods and applications designed to create positive change in a generative manner. Salesmen can improve their closure skills, allowing them to help their customers more efficiently and have fun while doing it. Children with "learning disabilities" can be taught to read and spell in a matter of hours. Ordinary phobias and fears that stop you from doing what you want can be vanquished within minutes. Unhealthy addictions and unwanted behavior that was once learned can be unlearned so the time spent doing what don't want to do anymore can instead be spent on something positive. The same methodologies can be used to help dysfunctional families work as a functional unit once again and to stop depressives from depressing themselves and free themselves from the chains of pity and misery. To enhance performance, allowing you to improve your confidence and self-image. To have freedom to do what you like and freedom from doing what you dislike.
